Volume of Marine Protests, 1848-1853.

Volume includes marine protests filed with the John Steele Tyler, Notary Public of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, City of Boston, Suffolk SS, between 1848 and 1853. Documents identify the name of the ship, the captain's name, cargo carried, and specific statements for the reasons of the protest. Each document indicates that damages, losses and detriments are to be born by the merchants and freighters interested or their respective underwriters. Volume only includes the protest documents; resolutions are not included in this volume.
